Just yesterday, I posted a story about the many changes Microsoft has been making to M365 Copilot in an effort to increase adoption rates. Less than 24 hours later, here we are again talking about another change to M365 Copilot. This one is a major refresh. The official announcement on the Microsoft 365 Blog this afternoon includes a launch video with one clear message: Microsoft's focus is to 'better serve you'. The music is soft and understated, and the focus is on a clear, crisp and refined UI. It ends with what could be the new tagline: "Copilot, reimagined - made for everyone - designed for you"
What's different?
I already mentioned the refined and cleaner look and feel above. Other significant changes include replacing the Work and Web context toggle with a Work IQ icon which can be turned off and on by clicking on it. While on, M365 Copilot Chat operates in what was formerly the Work context, and turning it off would be the equivalent of switching to the web context.

M365 Copilot Chat offers a choice of 7 different models: 6 from OpenAI - Think Deeper variants of GPT 5.2, GPT 5.4, and GPT 5.5, along with Quick Response variants of GPT 5.2, GPT 5.3 and GPT 5.5 - and one from Anthropic - Claude Opus.

Want to Create or Edit your Declarative Agents built with Agent Builder?
Creating and Editing agents has been moved up to the top just next to Library.

And we now have a way to see a consolidated view of Agent Activity for all Custom Engine Agents (designed with Copilot Studio) and Declarative Agents (designed with Agent Builder in M365 Copilot Chat)

Copilot Chat that appears as a sidecar in Office apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint will also get a cleaner aesthetic to complement the UI updates in the main Copilot Chat app.
What do you think of the new changes? Tell us the in the comments.
