Copilot Studio, now in its third year since launch, has been one of Microsoft's fastest iterating apps. So frequent are new updates and improvements, that it can be a case of 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' even for the most regular users. Most new features first roll out to Early Release cycle environments (aka preview environments), but even Standard cycle environments get fairly frequent updates. On one hand, this shows Microsoft's level of commitment to its main Agentic AI building tool. On the other hand, it can be a little chaotic not knowing what change(s) you will be greeted with each time you log in to Copilot Studio.

In a sign that Copilot Studio will be putting on its big-boy/big-girl pants, Principal PM Manager and leader of the Advisory team on CAT (Copilot Acceleratation Team) Henry Jammes announced on LinkedIn today that the team will be putting out weekly public release notes as well as a rollout schedule every Tuesday.

Henry noted that this "is what enterprise customers have been asking for: predictable, consistent visibility into what's shipping in each release train - new features, fixes, security updates, and dates - on par with Power Platform and Dynamics 365." He added that there would be "no more reverse-engineering changes after they land."

Where can you find the latest Public Release Notes?

The Public Release notes are conveniently available on Microsoft Learn > Power Platform > Released Versions here.

The release notes will be organized by Platform and UX for each Region. And recognizing the significant new additions that come to Preview environments, it is listed as its own region. Similarly, there is also a separate region entry for US Government cloud (GCC).

At this time, only the Preview region has an entry, while others are listed as Coming Soon.

What's been added to Copilot Studio recently?

This past week, Microsoft announced the addition of Mistral's Medium 3.5 model, Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 reasoning model. Other additions and improvements this past month include GA (General Availability) launch of Computer Using Agents, and quietly enhancing the Human-in-the-Loop (Request Information) tool with the ability to provide approvals from Microsoft Teams in addition to email. That latest improvement, for instance, has yet to be noted in the official connector documentation. Weekly public release notes from the product team should help both makers and administrators stay on top of changes like these with ease.
